Taco Salad

Taco Salad

  • 100 g (~1 medium size) yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound 93% lean ground beef
  • 1 lb 93% lean ground turkey
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (I like petite diced)
  • 4 tablespoons taco seasoning


In a mixing bowl combine ground beef and ground turkey. Using a food prep glove and your hand combine the meat together so they are mixed well.

In a large skillet over medium heat, combine, onion, garlic and the ground beef/turkey mixture. Cook for 10-15 until meat is browned and no longer pink. Once fully cooked, add diced tomatoes and taco seasoning and let simmer on low heat for as long as desired, stirring occasionally.

Serve with your favorite salad toppings. Some ideas are (and are not included in MFP nutrition):

Lettuce, spinach, cheese, sour cream, avocado/guacamole, salsa, red or green onion, crushed tortilla chips, etc.
